Jerry Thielen established Thielen Turf in 1960 as Thielen Trenching, installing farm drainage systems. In 1964 Thielen Trenching installed their first Golf Course Irrigation System, and in 1965, Thielen Trenching changed their name to Thielen Turf Irrigation.
In 1973 the business was incorporated when Doug Thielen, the son of Jerry Thielen, joined Thielen Turf Irrigation. In 1980 Dave Thielen, son of Jerry Thielen, also joined to achieve the family business. Thielen Turf Irrigation, Inc. is located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan and has been at its current address for forty years.
