“In July 2013, Thielen Turf Irrigation undertook the largest turf irrigation project ever completed in the state of Michigan. The project, the installation of a computerized system in Dow Gardens, a 110-acre botanical garden in Midland, Michigan, was completed in just over four months. The two wire system included 182 electric valves, all run off two Toro Sentinel Controllers, 1,500 sprinkler heads, and 160 quick couplers.Thielen Turf workers, under the supervision of Ben Thielen, were extremely efficient and, at all times respectful of the guests who continued to enjoy the Gardens during the construction. I was especially impressed by the communication during the project as Ben continually kept our management staff updated on what was being planned for the coming days and was always willing to adapt when events dictated it. In addition, the cleanup on the project was timely and very well done. On several occasions it was difficult, at day’s end, to see where they had installed pipe.

Having dealt with Thielen Turf in the past, we were pleased when they presented the most competitive bid. They did nothing, during this extremely large project, to diminish our enthusiasm.
